Hillbilly Catfishin'
This summer we went on vacation to visit my in-laws in Minnesota. While there, they took us to the headwaters of the Mississippi. What turned into a historical site seeing visit turned into a memory of "reality TV" proportions! Kade ended up Hillbilly Catfishin' and caught a catfish in the Mighty Mississippi with his bare hands.
The first steps of the Mississippi.
Brothers using walking sticks as weapons. Typical :)
Sister coming to check it out!
Caught it with his bare hands!!

The Process of Laughing
Theren and I are watching the dorkiest tv show together! I'm laughing and he's laughing..but we are not laughing at the same time. He looks at me and says, "Adults and children do not think the same things are funny!! It's like adults laugh at weird things I don't understand. And I can say something like, " I'm hungry for a cheeseburger!" And all my friends think I'm hilarious. Its such a strange process!!"

Camping!
Why is it that awesome times speed by, and the crap sits around? We were camping this week and had so much fun, sometimes. What do you consider fun? I'm not sure if I think fun is laughing non-stop or what. But fun, does not seem like camping. Lazy, worried..that is how I feel camping. Worried the kids are going to get picked up and taken by a creeper, that they'll bother other campers, that they'll get hit by a car on their bikes, is the youngest with the older two?? I think my kids had a blast. Unfortunately, I worried through the whole damn trip.

County Fair
I've decided that I'm the only mother in the world that worries this much. We go to the county fair, and the whole time I'm thinking, "Why are we here?" I won't let them ride that, talk to them, eat this?? What in the world was I thinking. I truly do thank The Lord for my husband. He holds my hand, and gently points to a ride, and says, "they can do that." So I release a huge stack of the $40 tickets, and I nod to the kids. As the guy straps them in, I breathe. He moved the ride to get others on, my kids now suspended in the air. I start to frantically scan the equipment for flaws, or differences from the others. I am panic stricken. I start to shiver, as my nerves have taken over. My husband walks up and replaces his hand in mine. Breathe.
